CateringUnlimited.com was founded by Ryan Comerford in 2003. Ryan owns and manages Fairways at dairy Creek and The View at Morro Bay Restaurants and Banquet Facilities located at the Dairy Creek Golf Course in San Luis Obispo, CA. When demanded from banquet customers to host off-site events became overwhelming, CateringUnlimited.com was born. His Food and Beverage education started in Toronto, Canada at the age of 12, where Ryan worked as a "Fry Cook" in a Fish and Chips Shop. Serving, bartending and management roles followed in fine dining establishments. Ryan credis the operation's growth to his talented and dedicated team, the concepts of "measuring success one happy customer at a time" and never taking business for granted. In his spare time, Ryan flies, sails, golfs, hikes, skies, and enjoys traveling to new culinary destinations to experience other restaurants.

George Rumpza, Continuity Manager

George began working at his father's restaurant in the early years of his life to become manager in 1968. In 1973, he became manager at Star Lanes Restaurant. He was offered the position of manager for Frosty Management Corporation opening their first of 11 wendy's Restaurants in Lafayette, Indiana. As operating Supervisor in 1978 George oversaw the building and development of two more Wendy's. Upon being promoted to Vice President and Director of Operations, he managed the construction and development of eight additional restaurants in Central Indiana. He continued to operate the eleven restaurants receiving the Dave Thomas Award for the Most Outstanding Franchise and as President of the Indiana Advertising Co-op. In 1993, George bought his own franchise of two Wendy's Restaurants in Ohio which he owned and operated. He served as a member of the Chamber of Commerce Board for 8 years and received the Business of the Year Award. In late 2005, he sold his business to move to California to be closer to his family and explore new ventures in the food industry. He and his wife took a six month hiatus to enjoy the Central Coast when George met Ryan Comerford and Cody Van Dorn in May of 2006 and found the perfect opportunity to be involved in the restaurants and catering with Fairway Management and CateringUnlimited.Com.


Gayle Powers , Event Coordinator

Gayle is an Event Coordinator with CateringUnlimited.Com and has been overseeing events since 2007. Gayle has been immersed in the Food and Beverage industry since she started working at her family restaurant 15 years ago and has been supervising events for many years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Events and Business from California State University - Chico. Gayle did an internship at Michael Daigan Floral Design in San Francisco and worked with a top floral designer for 5 years. Gayle is a San Luis Obispo native, residing in North County where she appreciates facilitating wedding catering at exceptional surrounding wineries. Gayle oveesees CateringUnlimited.Com’s bridal showroom at the Broad Street Events Group (www.broadstreeteventgroup.com). She enjoys meeting with brides, describing Epic Weddings’ services and tasting clients on our chef’s offerings. Gayle is an organized multi-tasker who appreciates her job which is challenging and always changing – which keeps her on her toes.

Claire Adler, Event Coordinator
(The View at Morro Bay)

Claire is originally from Southern California and has been a resident of the Central Coast for the past nine years. Claire oversees the staff at the Morro Bay facility as well as the banquets. Claire is being kept busy as Morro Bay has been recently renovated and is a preferred facility in the area. Claire is a Certified Florist and is currently pursuing her accreditation as a Bridal Consultant. She is a member of the American Bridal Consultants. In her free time, she enjoys being with friends, cooking and hosting dinner parties.

"Wanted to let you know how pleased we were with Claire Adler and the staff at The View at Morro Bay that served us at our wedding yesterday. Claire could not have been nicer, more helpful or more efficient with our phone calls, meetings, rehearsal, set up and event. She was wonderful. I valued her suggestions and initiative to make everything look nice and run smoothly. Hayley, Rick and Justin were also great! The food was excellent and we received many compliments. Kim Balaris

Kim has been at our Fairways At Dairy Creek location since the facility opened in March of 1996.  Aside from her duties in the restaurant, Kim brings her expertise as an event coordinator to CateringUnlimited.Com .  In her personal time, Kim enjoys kayaking, riding her bicycle around her home in Los Osos and spending time with family and friends.


Chef Albert Zgarka

Chef Zgarka is a native of Toronto, Canada and a graduate of George Brown Culinary School. He completed the post-graduate program at ALMA (La Scoula Internationale di Cucina Italiana), Italy’s leading training center for Italian cuisine. Albert apprenticed in Felino, Parma where he was exposed to methods of “sousvide” and “torch-cooking”, which he integrates into his personal culinary style. Albert returned to Toronto to work under Chef Fawzi Kotb, a protégé of Paul Bocuse and former personal chef to the Prince of Egypt. Albert succeeded Chef Kotb as the Executive Chef of Peppino’s on the Beach (selected by Toronto.Com as one of the Top Ten Restaurants in Toronto). In 2006, Albert made the move to California to start Epic Catering and share his love of fine foods, prepared directly and simply honoring their flavors and textures.
